A new EPE54B Android 2.1 update has been leaked for Nexus One. The Kernel version of this ROM is 2.6.29-01117-g4bc62c2 android-build@apa26 #1 and baseband is 32.26.00.24U_4.04.00.03_2. This new update have some noticeable changes in system/framework/* system/lib/libhtc_rill.so * system/app/*.apk system/etc/security/otacerts.zip and added de-odex packs for framework and application directories.
Here is a complete guide how to do this.
Step 1:
Download the new update from Here.
Step 2:
Copy the file to your SD card.
Step 3:
Rename the file to "update.zip" (if you using vista or windows 7 rename this to "update")
Step 4:
Power off your phone.
Step 5:
Hold the home+power keys simultaneously, you will be booted into a white screen with three Android robots on skateboard.
Step 6:
Select "Recovery" when on the next screen.
Step 7:
Your phone will reboot now, And you will see a picture of Android robot and an exclamation point on your screen.
Step 8:
Now press the "Power button" and "Volume up" key at the same time.
Step 9:
Now Select "Apply sdcard:update.zip"
Step 10:
Now lets thing run, you will get new update for your Nexus One after that.

"home+power" keys at the same time to enter recovery mode, you mean power+trackball, not home. So push in the trackball and power key at the same time.
